Rex K-12 is seeking a Virtual Cybersecurity Teacher to support two high school cybersecurity courses currently in progress. This fully remote role involves helping Cybersecurity 1 students complete remaining coursework and guiding Cybersecurity 2 students through their capstone projects. Classes meet Monday–Friday from 8:50–10:40 AM Pacific Time via Zoom, with the position running April 13 – May 29, 2026. All curriculum and materials are provided, and strong performers may have the opportunity to teach the full-year course beginning August 2026.

About the Role

Rex K-12 is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Virtual Cybersecurity Teacher to support two high school cybersecurity courses currently in progress. This fully remote position will step in mid-semester to help students complete remaining coursework and guide advanced students through their Capstone cybersecurity projects.

Students have already completed most of the instructional content, so the primary focus will be providing guidance, answering questions, supporting project completion, and maintaining a productive virtual classroom environment.

This short-term position also includes the potential opportunity to teach the full-year course beginning August 2026, depending on performance and program needs.


Responsibilities

  • Lead live virtual instruction for Cybersecurity 1 and Cybersecurity 2 courses
  • Support Cybersecurity 1 students in completing remaining coursework
  • Guide Cybersecurity 2 students through their Capstone cybersecurity project
  • Provide feedback, answer student questions, and support problem-solving
  • Foster a positive and engaging virtual classroom environment for high school students
  • Monitor student progress and assist with completing course requirements
  • Conduct classes via Zoom

All curriculum, lesson plans, and course materials are provided by Rex K-12.


Required Qualifications

  • Experience teaching or facilitating learning with students (high school level preferred)
  • Strong knowledge or professional experience in Cybersecurity
  • Ability to clearly explain cybersecurity concepts to students
  • Reliable availability Monday–Friday from 8:50 AM – 10:40 AM Pacific Time
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable teaching in a virtual classroom environment using Zoom


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or IT courses
  • Prior experience teaching in virtual or online learning environments
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or similar cybersecurity certification
  • Experience supporting project-based learning or capstone projects
