Temporary Orthopaedic Medical Typist - Immediate Start

Location: Washington (fully office‑based)

Pay: £13.30 per hour

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm (30‑min unpaid lunch). Full‑time or part‑time within stated hours

Contract: Approx. 1 month initially, potential to extend

Parking: Free on‑site parking

Checks Required: Standard DBS + references

Start Date: Immediate

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Temporary Orthopaedic Medical Typist to join a busy clinical department. This role is an ASAP start and will begin as a one‑month assignment, with the possibility of extension based on service needs.

This is a pure audio‑typing position, requiring recent experience of working in Orthopaedics, exceptional accuracy and the ability to interpret clinical dictation confidently. You will be responsible for transcribing high‑quality medical correspondence within Orthopaedics.

Key Responsibilities

Audio typing clinical letters from dictation

Producing accurate, timely and professional medical correspondence

Interpreting and using appropriate medical terminology

Ensuring confidentiality at all times

Supporting consultants with administrative typing tasksEssential Requirements

Previous Orthopaedic medical secretary experience

Strong and proven audio typing skills

Excellent understanding of medical terminology

Confident interpreting detailed clinical dictation

Ability to start immediately

Subject to DBS and reference checks
