Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, is hiring a Technology Business Partner – HE Technology to serve as the strategic leader for our HE Leadership Community representing OCTO at Pearson .

In this pivotal role , you will collaborate closely with HE business stakeholders to understand their strategic objectives, assess technology needs, and guide IT solutions that support business growth and efficiency. You will ensure technology initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities. You will act as a trusted advisor, aligning OCTO initiatives with business objectives to drive value and innovation. Your role will involve strategic alignment, relationship management, and a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Alignment: Work with business unit leaders to understand their objectives, challenges, market context, and technology requirements. Translate business goals into technology strategies and roadmaps, ensuring OCTO initiatives are aligned with HE business priorities.
  • Trusted Advisor: Provide expert advice on technology investments, digital transformation, and architecture. Offer guidelines on the effective use of IT services vendors and technology partners
  • Relationship & Communication: Bridge OCTO (Office of the CTO) teams and business units, conveying technology capabilities, constraints, and benefits clearly. Build trust through transparency and active listening, keeping business engaged with OCTO initiatives
  • Focus on Business Outcomes: Collaborate with the OCTO group to ensure technology initiatives support strategic business goals. Prioritize initiatives based on their potential to deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Own and execute the long-term vision for HE aligned with company-wide Technology goals and the broader organizational mission.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, automation, operational rigor and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a key member of the Technology Business Partner Leadership team, providing thought leadership across technology, product, and HR.
  • Play an advisory role in implementing artificial intelligence solutions to address critical HE technology challenges, streamline processes, improve the end user experience, and optimise efficiency within software development and technology operations.

  • Tailored Solutions: Customizing delivery approaches to meet the unique requirements of different business divisions. This involves understanding the specific needs and challenges of each division and adapting delivery methods accordingly.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implementing a culture of continuous improvement where delivery processes are regularly reviewed and refined to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This includes adopting new technologies and practices that can improve delivery outcomes.
  • Outcome-Driven Approach: Focusing on delivering measurable business outcomes rather than just completing projects. This means prioritizing initiatives that have the potential to drive significant business value and ensuring that delivery efforts are aligned with these priorities.
  • Business roles : Experience in spear heading technology transformation initiatives working with C-suite leadership specificallyleading large-scale Technology transformation projects is preferred.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.The full-time salary range is between $180,000 - $200,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is here.Applications will be accepted through 26th March 2026.
