Purpose of RoleThe Sr. Specialist, NA Sports Marketing Basketball will help shape and execute Under Armour’s basketball strategy across North America by building authentic connections between the brand, athletes, and the basketball community. This role focuses on elevating Under Armour’s presence in professional, grassroots, college and emerging basketball ecosystems through culturally relevant partnerships, athlete storytelling, and on-the-ground activations. This position will play a key role in identifying and developing basketball talent at multiple levels, from rising grassroots athletes to established professionals, ensuring Under Armour remains connected to the future of the game. The Sr. Specialist will support athlete onboarding, fulfilling athlete contractual obligation, and long-term partnership planning while helping bring performance product, innovation, and brand narratives to life through basketball.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regional basketball marketing initiatives that strengthen Under Armour’s credibility and visibility within key basketball markets across North America
  • Build, manage, and grow relationships with basketball athletes, trainers, creators, programs, and community leaders
  • Scout emerging basketball talent and cultural voices, maintaining a strong understanding of grassroots, NIL, and professional basketball landscapes
  • Support contract negotiations, renewals, and athlete agreements in partnership with legal and leadership teams
  • Manage basketball product seeding, athlete servicing, and day-to-day relationship needs to ensure best-in-class athlete experience
  • Coordinate basketball-related photo shoots, content moments, and storytelling opportunities in collaboration with Brand and Social teams
  • Develop internal presentations, recaps, and performance summaries tied to basketball initiatives and partnerships
  • Partner closely with Product, Footwear, Apparel, and Innovation teams to ensure basketball insights influence future product development
  • Work with Wear Testing to connect athletes with performance testing opportunities
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing, Sports Marketing, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Events teams to execute cohesive basketball programs

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of basketball culture across professional, collegiate, grassroots, and street-level environments
  • Strong relationship-building skills with athletes, creators, and community stakeholders
  • Experience supporting athlete partnerships, contracts, or sports marketing initiatives
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, brand-driven environment
  • Willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours aligned with basketball schedules and events
  • BA Required
  • 3-5 years of relevant Sports Marketing experience
