Role Summary

As a Sr Front End Software Engineer for T. Rowe Price's Retiree Income platform, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality user interfaces using the Vue.js framework. Working in an Agile environment, you will partner with cross-functional teams to create secure, intuitive, and efficient web applications that empower our retirement income planning and holistic advice solutions. Your expertise in frontend development, adherence to coding standards, and commitment to quality will help ensure our platform meets T. Rowe Price's technology and business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Build, test, and deploy frontend components and user interfaces with Vue.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript tooling.
  • Develop responsive, accessible, and user-friendly features that integrate seamlessly with backend services via REST APIs.
  • Author unit, integration, and end-to-end tests with a focus on automation and measurable quality metrics.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in frontend applications, including optimizing performance and rendering.
  • Engage in code reviews, contributing to team standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, backend engineers, product owners, and QA partners to deliver unified product solutions.
  • Help shape frontend architecture, tooling, and workflows in accordance with enterprise guidelines.
  • Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and identify opportunities to enhance developer productivity, application performance, and user experience.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of frontend development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Proficiency in Vue.js (or similar frameworks such as React/Angular), including experience building production UI applications
  • Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, and responsive design
  • Experience integrating frontend components with backend services via REST APIs
  • Proven ability to write automated tests for UI components using contemporary test frameworks
  • Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in Agile development environments
  • Exposure to cloud-based application development (AWS or similar)
  • Knowledge of design systems, component libraries, or UI architecture patterns

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for full time remote work, however, candidates local to Kansas City, MO; Colorado Springs, CO; or Owings Mills, MD who are able to commit to our onsite hybrid work model are strongly preferred.

Base Salary Ranges

$121,000.00 - $206,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$133,000.00 - $227,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$151,000.00 - $258,000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual's relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
