Position Title: Sr. Applications Analyst
Client: VCU Health Systems
Address : Richmond, VA
Position Status: 3 month contract to permanent
Rate: $45/hr - $49/hr on W2

Responsibilities: The Applications Analyst - Senior is responsible for the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of the organization's information technology resources. The role provides solutions to a variety of complex technical problems of diverse scope, requiring analysis and evaluation of multiple factors. This role collaborates closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, design solutions, configure modules, and provide ongoing support to ensure the smooth operation of the Information System.

  • Provides solutions to highly complex technical problems requiring frequent use of creativity and ingenuity and an in-depth analysis and evaluation of multiple factors.
  • Leads teams and/or projects, coordinating work activities, reporting on work status, and providing input on team performance.
  • Develops team competencies and documentation materials.
  • Ensures impact assessment documentation is complete.
  • Makes recommendations for repeatable, low-impact implementations.
  • Performs troubleshooting efforts on application issues, submits service requests to vendors, and follows complex correction steps.
  • Acts as primary IT Liaison with key departments and/or committees and coordinates the work of others to complete a series of prioritized requests in responsibility areas.
  • Research emerging technology and its application to business needs and presents findings to all levels of management as required.
  • Prioritizes work in the area of specialization and is accountable for reporting on work status.
  • Advises end-users and oversight groups regarding the feasibility of proposed system changes and the amount of effort required to complete the change(s).
  • Participates in application of special interest groups, workshops as required.
  • May be responsible to mentor/precept other team members when appropriate.
  • Ensures responsibility and visible commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion of programs/initiatives through collaboration and implementation of initiatives across the health system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and/or participates in special projects to support the mission of VCUHS.
Qualifications:
  • 5 years of related experience; including three years of direct related IT application experience
  • At least one certification in Epic application
  • Associate' degree or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Expert understanding of system development life cycle and application development experience.
  • Expert understanding and broad application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in principal disciplines
  • Applies extensive technical expertise in principle discipline and broad knowledge in related disciplines in revising or developing new methods and procedures.
  • Understands the workflow, primary objectives, and critical technology implementation issues of at least three primary business or clinical areas.
  • Expert knowledge of application build, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools. High-level analysis, design, application build, training, and implementation planning skills.
  • Understands major components of critical external systems and how they are interfaced and possesses the highest level of analysis, design, build, training, and implementation planning skills.
  • Knowledge of the interactions between various application subspecialties and ability to initiate joint design and development efforts.
  • Utilizes considerable latitude in determining objectives of assignments and determining approaches to solutions with work performed from a long-term perspective and for achieving desired objectives.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
  • Operates with limited supervision from manager or specialist team members in determining objectives of assignments and solutions with work.
  • Acts as primary IT Liaison with key departments and/or committees
