As a Senior Business Analyst on the Velocity Black AI/ML team, you will contribute to the entire data-to-model lifecycle, from curating datasets to validating model outputs to monitoring ongoing performance. You will also support the various governance forums and tasks required to build AI and ML products in a well managed way. In addition to supporting the existing work in the pipeline, you have the opportunity to help set our future tech and product strategy by conducting research and validating hypotheses through data and insights. Working alongside BA, Product, Data Analyst, Data Science, Engineering, and Risk and Compliance partners, you will be an integral part of a very exciting, and fast paced cross-functional team, launching product features and models that deliver significant business value. Responsibilities • Analysis: Identify challenges and opportunities through data analysis and analyze model and product outputs to ensure we are effectively solving the identified problems • Product: Perform analytics and research to assist the development of new AI/ML tools and models, improving our overall digital product offering • Strategy: Conduct user research, market research, and research on the latest AI and ML methods to help guide our team towards to best overall product strategy • Model Risk and Governance: Help assess risk and monitor against the inevitable risks of leveraging AI/ML products; help bring pieces of intent through various governance forums • Execution: Own the end-to-end data to model lifecycle; develop hypotheses, test and analysis, solution development, scope operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts and develop a monitoring plan • Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: Product, Engineering, Data Analysis and Data Science, Compliance and Risk and others to drive improvement in quality and service through well-executed product offerings Requirements • Strategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytics & model risk management • Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity: He/she should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business • Strong communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills • Clear results orientation: display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment • Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. • Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering) • At least 1 year of experience in analysis Nice-to-haves • Previous consulting experience is a plus • Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or Data Science • 1+ years of experience in model development or management • 1+ years of experience in market, user, or product research • 1+ years of experience in SQL querying • 2+ years of experience in business analysis • Fluency in modern AI/ML topics Apply tot his job
