Singapore - Visit retail stores and collect Importer data

Other Jobs To Apply

No other job posts for this day.

We are looking for a freelancer currently located in Singapore who can physically visit retail stores and collect importer information printed on product labels.

The purpose of this research is to identify companies that import foreign products into Singapore, so we can potentially introduce Japanese products to them in the future.

TASK OVERVIEW

Visit supermarkets, pharmacies, and specialty stores and record importer information from product labels.

The label must clearly show something like:

“Imported by [Company Name]”

We are specifically looking for companies that import products into Singapore, not just brands selling their own products.

TARGET

100 unique importer companies

Collected from products in major retail stores.

PRODUCT CATEGORIES

Products must come from one of the following categories:

- Frozen Foods

- Pharmacy / OTC Wellness

- Baby Products

- Pet Products

- Household Products

Priority should be given to products that appear to be imported from overseas.

DATA TO COLLECT

For each product, record the following:

- Store Name

- Store Location (mall / area)

- Product Name

- Price (SGD)

- Importer Name (exactly as written on the label)

- Importer Website or Online Presence

(Company website preferred. If unavailable: Google Maps, LinkedIn, business registry, etc.)

- Category

IMPORTER REQUIREMENTS

The product label must clearly show something like:

Imported by: [Company Name]

The importer must be a real importing company.

Do NOT include companies that only import their own brand.

Example (not allowed):

Brand: COLA

Importer: COLA PTE LTD

These companies usually only distribute their own products.

UNIQUENESS RULES

Product Uniqueness

The same product cannot appear more than once.

Importer Limits

- Normally one entry per importer

- The same importer may appear maximum 2 times

- If used twice, the product brand must be different

- The importer cannot appear more than twice within the same category

STORE VISIT VERIFICATION

To confirm the research was conducted in person:

Please provide one photo of the store exterior or store sign for each store visited.

Examples:

FairPrice entrance, Cold Storage storefront, Guardian sign, etc.

You must visit at least 3–5 different stores.

DELIVERABLE

Google Spreadsheet (template will be provided)

Columns:

Store Name | Store Location | Product Name | Price | Importer Name | Importer Website | Category

PAYMENT

Target: 100 valid importer entries.

If fewer than 100 valid entries are collected:

Payment will be $1.2 USD per valid entry.

RECOMMENDED STORES TO VISIT

These stores typically carry many imported products and are good places to find importer labels:

Supermarkets

- FairPrice / FairPrice Finest

- Cold Storage

- Giant

- Don Don Donki

Pharmacy / Wellness

- Guardian

- Watsons

Pet / Baby

- Pet Lovers Centre

- Mothercare

These chains usually carry a high number of imported products, making it easier to collect importer data.

TO APPLY

Please answer the following:

1. Which stores in Singapore can you visit?

2. How many days do you estimate to complete 100 valid entries?

3. Confirm that you can physically visit stores (not online research)

Preference will be given to applicants who already visit supermarkets regularly.
