As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll also dive into projects that focus on team cohesiveness and cross-team objectives. You’ll lead without authority and provide other engineers with a clear illustration of extraordinary engineering.

The Riot Web ecosystem is the gateway through which millions of players worldwide discover, engage with, and register for Riot’s games and experiences. At any given moment, countless players are interacting with our web products - creating and managing accounts, exploring new features, discovering upcoming games, or immersing themselves in new digital experiences. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Riot Web team, you'll build high-impact web experiences that millions of players worldwide use to discover and engage with Riot’s universe. Your work will be players' first touchpoint with the wide range of experiences that Riot has to offer - including League of Legends, Valorant, TFT, 2XKO, Legends of Runeterra, Wildrift and beyond. Reporting to the Engineering Manager for Riot Web, you will eagerly dive into new areas of tech with the support of your teammates. 

Responsibilities:
  • Build immersive and functional web experiences that reach players across the globe
  • Maintain and evolve distributed services used by millions of players
  • Create high-quality software by writing unit, functional, and integration tests
  • Partner with product, quality, user experience, and visual design to create the best possible experience for players
  • Drive best practices and projects on the team in collaboration with partner teams 
  • Mentor other engineers in your areas of expertise
Required Qualifications: 
  • Full stack Software Engineer, solid knowledge of frontend technologies and services
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, with at least 2+ years in a senior-level role leading cross-team initiatives
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Expertise with modern full stack development, including React, TypeScript, CSS, and Node.js, with a track record of architecting scalable solutions
  • Experience navigating and contributing to large, complex codebases in live or production environments
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, web infrastructure, and tooling for automated testing and deployment
  • Proven ability to drive technical design, set architectural direction, and lead delivery of cross-discipline projects spanning 3-6+ months
  • Experience mentoring engineers, establishing best practices, and elevating technical standards across a team
  • Strengths in collaboration and communication
Desired Qualifications:
  • Understanding of build / deploy automation
