Location

Birmingham, Bristol, Normanton (Calder), London, Sunderland, Warrington
For roles based in London, your contractual place of work will be Stratford. While the Stratford site is expected to become operational from November 2025 – March 2026, you will be required to carry out your contractual duties from Vauxhall or another reasonable location on a temporary basis during the interim period.

Please note that, as Stratford will be your contractual place of work, any subsequent move from a temporary location will not entitle you to payments for travel time or costs under the Relocation and Excess Travel Policy.

This is an opportunity to lead the NCA’s commercial intelligence. Your leadership will strengthen NCA decision‑making by converting commercial, financial and supplier‑risk data into trusted, actionable intelligence. You will lead the design and delivery of commercial management information (MI) and dashboards, provide consultative analysis to senior leaders, and embed insight‑led governance that protects service delivery and drives value for money.

Job description

As our Senior Commercial Intelligence & Management Information (MI) Lead, you will help shape strategic decisions by turning commercial, financial and supplier‑risk data into insight that leaders can act on. You’ll design and own our commercial MI and dashboards, advise senior stakeholders, and raise the bar on data quality and reporting. From due diligence and open‑book reviews to price‑change challenge and scenario modelling, you’ll translate complex information into clear recommendations that drive value for money and protect delivery. We’re looking for a hands‑on analyst‑consultant with strong Power BI and modelling skills, a sharp eye for data quality, and the credibility to influence boards and senior teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Overview


Lead the roadmap for commercial MI and dashboards (Power BI), surfacing performance, value, risk and forecasted pressure points.


Translate complex datasets into strategic recommendations for senior stakeholders and governance forums (e.g., Commercial Boards, Investment Panels).

Own data definitions, lineage and controls; ensure reporting aligns to Government Commercial Function standards and NCA governance requirements

Provide expert consultancy on supplier financial health, market dynamics and value‑for‑money considerations to Commercial, Finance and Operations

Lead financial due diligence on bidders/suppliers; monitor indicators of financial distress and market risk.

Develop and maintain commercial financial models for high‑value ("gold") contracts, including scenario/sensitivity analysis for negotiation and decision points.

Produce concise, insight‑rich reports on supplier/contract financial performance, trends and implications for delivery and risk.

Lead annual open‑book reviews; validate completeness/accuracy of supplier accounts (including gainshare) and track remediation actions.

Assess price‑change proposals for existing and new services; provide evidence‑based challenge and recommendations

Drive continuous improvement across MI, modelling methods and reporting cadences; champion a data‑driven culture across commercial teams.

A panel will assess how well your application demonstrates the requirements outlined above.

Longlist

In the event of a high number of applications, we may operate a longlist. Applicants will need to meet the minimum pass mark for the lead criteria.

Assessment Outcome
Outcomes will be communicated via the NCA recruitment portal.

Occupational Health

Successful candidates will be expected to undertake an occupational health assessment. Depending on the role an in-person medical may be required in either London or Warrington. Unfortunately, travel costs will not be reimbursed.
