About the Role

The Twitch Community Discovery & Engagement team manages a wide array of features and systems to help communities form, grow, and thrive on Twitch. These features let people participate in their favorite communities and discover new ones more efficiently. We work hard to bring novel opportunities to the world of streaming both individually and in collaboration with similar streamers.

These features will span both web and mobile surfaces. We’re particularly interested in someone that will become an expert in both of these platforms as well as has passion in influencing what these features should be and how they work. Some examples of some of these today are Stream Together, Shared Chat, and Whispers.

This role is expected to be fullstack but with a significant bias towards Frontend and Mobile implementations over backend.

You will be empowered to work across these various features, and will partner with other engineers, product managers, designers, and data analysts to deliver solutions that allow viewers to connect and streamers to live out their dream jobs.

You can work in San Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA; New York, NY; or Seattle, WA.

You Will:

  • Work with product managers, technical leads, and other engineers to design, develop, launch, and operate interactive experiences and products
  • Deliver high quality user experiences on both Web and Mobile surfaces.
  • Collaborate with both your team and related teams - fostering shared understanding of how to solve problems and deliver solutions 
  • Work backwards from customer problems to drive business impact

You Have:

  • 1+ Years experience developing software in a professional environment
  • Prior experience building consumer-facing products at scale
  • Proficient coding skills in modern languages and frameworks such as React, Swift, Objective-C
  • Proven ability with thinking though and delivering quality user experiences. 
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Bonus Points

  • Experience with languages/frameworks we use at Twitch: Typescript, Golang
  • Experience building software and services using AWS technologies such as ECS, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, and Step Functions
  • Familiarity with Twitch, gaming, and/or streaming on Twitch

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
