Location: Wichita, KS

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Day shifts

Hours per Week: 36-40 hrs per week

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality pediatric nursing care to infants, children and adolescents
  • Perform patient assessments and develop nursing plans that keep kids safe and families informed
  • Start and manage IVs and other common pediatric procedures with competence and care
  • Collaborate closely with residents, physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
  • Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR to support continuity and compliance
  • Prioritize and multitask in a busy unit while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety
  • Educate families on care plans, medications and discharge instructions with patience and clarity

Qualifications

  • Current, active RN license in Kansas (required)
  • Experience in general pediatric care; demonstrated comfort working with residents
  • BLS required; PALS preferred or willing to obtain
  • APHON experience or interest is a plus for oncology-adjacent pediatric cases
  • Proven ability to multitask, maintain attention to detail, and work in a team environment
  • IV start competency preferred (unit lists IV Starts as a preferred skill)

Education

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
  • Active RN license in Kansas

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of pediatric assessment and family-centered care
  • Familiarity with Meditech EMR for charting and orders
  • Strong IV skills and basic pediatric procedures
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and time-management abilities
  • Comfort working with residents and following unit policies and protocols
