But at Monzo, we want to do so while continuing with our agile “test and learn” approach to launching products our customers love. We are looking for a Risk & Controls Manager to help our 2LOD Enterprise Risk Team and 1LOD Risk & Control Discipline partner with Habito stakeholders to ensure we successfully roll-out and embed our risk management framework and change controls across the company.<br><br><strong>The Role<br><br></strong>As a Risk & Control Manager on a <strong>12 month fixed term contract</strong>, you will use your passion for risk and control to support our integration with Habito across all components of our risk framework. Monzo is a fast-paced and ever changing environment: flexibility, and openness to pivot and focus on different components of our risk frameworks is a must.<br><br>Teams across the first line in Monzo seek guidance from the Risk & Control Discipline on how to ensure they are compliant with regulations and Monzo’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework and they also rely on us to create a risk aware culture that distinguishes Monzo in both banking and technology. Within the Habito integration plan, you will lead the way in creating our approach for real-time risk management by accurately identifying and documenting risks, issues and controls, and also setting the standard on our consumer duty integration activities.<br><br><strong>🔑 You’ll play a key role by...<br><br></strong><ul><li>Helping to innovate and improve the embedding of existing of change, governance and risk management process to ensure they work for Habito</li><li>Supporting Habito to develop and improve controls that protect our customer and business needs now and in the future</li><li>Manage and report on Habito' risk and control environment (risks, controls, issues, incidents, remedial actions, etc.) across both product and operational support domains</li><li>Help embed robust regulatory, conduct, and operational risk practices and culture </li><li>Identify and set up appropriate risk appetite metrics and embed reporting of these for Habito</li><li>Foster positive and collaborative relationships across the three lines of defence<br><br></li></ul><strong>🤩We’d love to hear from you if…<br><br></strong><ul><li>You have considerable risk and control experience, across operational and conduct risk in a regulated environment</li><li>You have a demonstrable ability to lead risk assessments, with a data-led approach to risk identification, assessment and treatment</li><li>You have an understanding of how risk frameworks work in practice</li><li>You have experience with issue and action management</li><li>You’re excited about helping Monzo and Habito scale in a compliant, thoughtful and controlled way</li><li>You’re resilient and comfortable working in a fast paced and ambiguous environment where the day to day job is constantly evolving and changing</li><li>You are able to meet people where they are at, and be the a bridge between internal teams</li><li>You are a self-starter, and able to work independently and make prioritisation decisions<br><br></li></ul>It would be a bonus if you have experience in risk management in mortgage brokerage firms or Consumer Duty and experience applying these regulations and principles to day-to-day work<br><br><strong>🌈 The Interview Process<br><br></strong>Our interview process involves 4 main stages:<br><br><ul><li>Short call with a recruiter </li><li>30 minute video-call with the hiring manager</li><li>Full-Loop (2 x 60 minute interviews conducted via GoogleMeet)<br><br></li></ul><strong>🙌 What’s In It For You<br><br></strong>💰 up to £85,000<br><br>📍This role can be based in our London office, but we're open to distributed working within the UK (with ad hoc meetings in London)<br><br>⏰We offer flexible working hours and trust you to work enough hours to do your job well, and at times that suit you and your team.<br><br>📚£1,000 learning budget each year to use on books, training courses and conferences.<br><br>🏡We will set you up to work from home; all employees are given Macbooks and for fully remote workers we will provide extra support for your work-from-home setup.<br><br>➕ Plus lots more!
