In this role, you will be the last line of quality assurance before a solar installation is closed out, ensuring every system meets or exceeds local code requirements, utility standards, and SpartanX quality benchmarks. You won't just identify issues; you'll resolve them.<br><br><ul><li>Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required*<br><br></li></ul><strong>Key Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Conduct final inspections on residential and commercial solar installations across Michigan, ensuring full compliance with NEC, local AHJ requirements, and utility interconnection standards</li><li>Identify and correct common on-site inspection failure points, including labeling deficiencies, grounding issues, conduit compliance, inverter placement, and string configuration errors</li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact during municipal and utility inspections, representing SpartanX professionally with inspectors and officials</li><li>Document inspection results, corrective actions taken, and sign-off status using company systems</li><li>Collaborate with install crews and project managers to communicate recurring issues and drive upstream quality improvements</li><li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Michigan-specific code amendments, utility requirements, and evolving solar installation standards</li><li>Support the broader operations team with technical guidance on code compliance questions as needed<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>3+ years of hands-on solar installation or inspection experience, with a strong working knowledge of residential PV systems</li><li>Demonstrated ability to correct common inspection failure points independently and without supervision</li><li>Deep familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and its application to solar PV systems, including Michigan-specific local amendments</li><li>Experience navigating the AHJ inspection process — you know how to communicate with inspectors and get systems approved</li><li>NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification or equivalent strongly preferred.</li><li>OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred</li><li>Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; this is a field-based role with travel across Michigan job sites</li><li>Strong attention to detail, self-direction, and the ability to manage multiple active inspections simultaneously</li><li>Proficiency with mobile inspection tools, documentation platforms, and basic office software<br><br></li></ul><strong>What We Provide<br><br></strong><ul><li>Health Insurance offered</li><li>Vehicle Compensation (Choose One):</li><li></li><ul><li>$400 monthly car stipend + $0.22 per mile, or</li><li>Use your own vehicle + $0.72 per mile</li></ul><li>Competitive compensation and opportunities for growth</li><li>Supportive team environment focused on safety and quality<br></li></ul><strong><strong>Legal Disclaimer<br><br></strong></strong>SpartanX is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values workplace diversity.
