The GCP Application Architect will be responsible for performing comprehensive architecture reviews of applications to determine their readiness for migration to arenaflex Cloud Platform, collaborating with internal teams and arenaflex partners to facilitate smooth transitions and document findings. Responsibilities • Conduct deep-dive technical assessments of applications, including those lacking clear documentation or ownership, such as legacy systems • Reverse engineer legacy applications to understand operational dependencies and migration challenges • Collaborate with application teams to answer technical questionnaires and provide migration-related insights to arenaflex • Identify applications that may present migration challenges and develop strategies for replatforming to native GCP (GCE, avoiding ESX/VMware) • Partner with arenaflex and internal teams throughout the migration process, serving as a technical advisor and problem solver • Document findings, recommendations, and migration plans for each application reviewed • Support ongoing architecture reviews as new applications are identified for migration Skills • Experience with arenaflex Compute Engine (GCE) and related GCP services • Proven experience in application architecture review and cloud migration, preferably with GCP • Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies, virtualization, and re-platforming strategies • Ability to work with legacy systems and incomplete documentation • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners • Excellent attention to detail • Strong organizational skills • Excellent analytical skills • Excellent documentation skills; demonstrated proficiency in arenaflex Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Collaborative team worker – both in person and virtually using MS Teams or similar • Ability to work as liaison between business and information security / information technology • Flexibility to accommodate working across different time zones • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with strong spoken and written English • Business outcomes mindset • Solid balance of strategic thinking with detail orientation • Self-starter, ability to take initiative • Familiarity with legacy security applications • Prior experience in large-scale migration projects Benefits • Competitive benefits Company Overview • New Era Technology NZ provides a range of network and IT support, strategic planning, modern workspace, audio and visual, virtual meeting rooms and professional development solutions and services.
