American Freedom Insurance Company is seeking a Claims Manager to lead their claims department, focusing on efficiency and exceptional service. The role involves managing a team, optimizing processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing claims management in multiple states.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and motivate claims staff with focus on IN and PA claims teams, ensuring workflow, workload, and service levels are met efficiently
  • Develop strategies to reduce loss costs and ensure efficient claim processing
  • Set and measure performance indicators to ensure accountability and team success
  • Monitor and ensure regulatory compliance and minimize complaints
  • Oversee, evaluate, and authorize claims, keeping high priority IN and PA PPA cases closely monitored
  • Coach adjusters handling IN and PA PPA claims to meet or exceed service objectives and regulatory standards
  • Negotiate claims, achieve favorable outcomes, and minimize expenses
  • Foster collaboration within the Claims Department, working closely with staff, supervisors, and managers
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and ensure operational excellence

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant claims management experience
  • Strong customer service skills and fast-track claim processing expertise
  • Skilled at negotiating with attorneys and pro se litigants
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with technology and coverage/liability analysis
  • High level of responsibility, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Experience handling Private Passenger Auto (PPA) claims in Indiana and Pennsylvania
  • IL, TN, or TX experience
  • Nonstandard auto insurance experience
  • Knowledge of claims practices in IL, IN, TN, PA, or TX
  • Bilingual Spanish
