Oversees daily operations, manages and develops departmental staff, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team in the delivery of patient care. Utilizes the nursing process to ensure the delivery of quality care to patients.<h2><b>Job Description</b></h2><p>We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Life Flight team!</p><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p></p><p>*4+ years of RN experience in ER or ICU is required</p><p></p><p><b><u>Minimum Qualifications</u></b></p><p><b>Education:</b>  Graduate of a school of professional nursing; Bachelors of Nursing preferred</p><p><b>Licenses/Certification: </b></p><ul><li><p>Current State of Texas license to practice as Registered Professional Nurse</p></li><li><p>Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required; TNCC or CCRN preferred</p></li><li><p>Required to obtain within 18 months of hire: audit ATLS, obtain CFRN & NRP and EMT-P by the Texas Department of State Health Services <b><u>or</u></b> Licensed Paramedic by the Texas Department of State Health Services </p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Experience / Knowledge / Skills:</b> </p><ul><li><p>Minimum three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse in critical care and/or emergency department, preferably in a Level One Trauma Center</p></li><li><p>Preference to intra-system applicants</p></li><li><p>Maintains current state of physical and mental well being</p></li><li><p>Able to lift at least 50 pounds</p></li><li><p>Physically fit to lift, bend, and twist</p></li><li><p>Able perform job responsibilities in confined areas and /or differing environments</p></li><li><p>Standard aircraft seat belts will fit without alterations</p></li><li><p>Able to function in the cabin of an aircraft without physical restrictions</p></li><li><p>Meets weight requirements of less than 240 pounds in uniform</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Principal Accountabilities</u></b></p><ul><li><p>Delivers appropriate care to patients, at a competent level, according to the RN skills inventory and the age and needs of the patient/population served.</p></li><li><p>Coordinates the planning for the delivery of patient treatment by the multidisciplinary team and administers appropriate clinical decisions in the planning and delivery of care, utilizing existing resources and staff, and setting appropriate priorities; participates in the development of clinical pathways and monitoring of performance outcomes.</p></li><li><p>Directs the healthcare team in attaining positive outcomes, including meeting treatment goals; develops/implements discharge and/or transfer plans.</p></li><li><p>Evaluates the quality of patient care and contributes to the revision of standards of care; assists manager with employee related issues such as performance management and serves as preceptor and charge nurse on the unit, as assigned.</p></li><li><p>Actively participates in Memorial Hermann Life Flight activities when asked: public relations activities, hospital multidisciplinary committees, EMS Conference, EMS monthly CE offerings, Twelve Lead Classes, Airway Training.</p></li><li><p>Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.</p></li><li><p>Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
