Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shifts (schedule varies; self-scheduling in place), 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide expert labor and delivery nursing care, including management of inductions and high-risk labor
  • Circulate for C-sections and support the surgical team with safe, efficient perioperative care
  • Monitor fetal status and interpret tracings using Monica Novii telemetry to make timely clinical decisions
  • Manage infusion devices and medication administration using Alaris and PCA pumps
  • Insert and manage IUPC/AROM and other obstetric interventions as indicated
  • Document patient care accurately in CPN Gold and Meditech EMR systems
  • Collaborate with OB hospitalists, residents and the multidisciplinary team to optimize maternal and neonatal outcomes
  • Support unit staffing and self-scheduling processes; be a dependable team player who helps cover clinical needs

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience (explicit requirement)
  • Proven experience circulating C-sections (must-have)
  • Experience with high-risk LDR care preferred (candidates with this will be prioritized)
  • Familiarity with unit equipment: Monica Novii telemetry, Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, CPN (GE) monitoring
  • Proficiency with EMR documentation in CPN Gold and Meditech
  • Typical travel expectations: active RN license eligible for Kansas (state or compact), and current ACLS/BLS or obstetric-specific certifications are commonly required — confirm during application

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong clinical judgment in labor management and fetal monitoring
  • Skill in circulating and assisting during C-sections and perioperative obstetric procedures
  • Comfort with induction protocols, IUPC placement and AROM management
  • Competence using telemetry and infusion pump technology (Monica Novii, Alaris, PCA)
  • Accurate, timely EMR documentation and charting (CPN Gold, Meditech)
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and flexibility in a fast-paced L&D environment
