POSITION OVERVIEW
•Assist in the maintaining of the peak shaving plants and compressor stations. Learning the position of Plant Operator is a requirement in order for VNG Peaking Ops to function on peak days during winter months assuring reliability of plants to support system supply.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•Work with plant supervisor, mechanics, and operators to ensure educational development by reviewing operational procedures in the techniques of operation, maintenance and repair of propane equipment and compressor stations operations for promotion to plant operator or mechanic. 
•Operate Chesapeake and Pivotal Propane Plants remotely or locally for peaking demands. 
•Unload and load propane at the Chesapeake, and Pivotal Propane Plants delivered by trucks or other means 
•Transfer propane – liquid/vapors from bullet tanks and refrigerated propane storage tanks 
•Operate VNG Compressor Stations in Charles City and Ladysmith remotely or locally for peaking demands. 
•Perform general plant maintenance – pipeline painting, lawn maintenance, general house cleaning to include kitchens, bathrooms and all building interior and exterior at all facilities.
•Maintain a safe environment in work areas of the facilities for safe working conditions. 
•Assist plant mechanic with PM schedules in DataStream 7i to ensure equipment preventive maintenance completed as scheduled. 
•Perform other reasonable essential functions as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
•A team player – able to work well with coworkers 
•Available for year- round rotating call duty for any of the facilities.
•Available for 24- hour shift work 
•Available for unscheduled emergency overtime
•Available for emergency callouts after scheduled workdays, weekends, and holidays 
•Must be a decision maker able to convey instructions to supervisor and coworkers in order to achieve desired results 
•High school graduate 
Starting hourly salary: $24.48

•Extensive daily travel 
•Subject to 24-hour call-out 
•Travel between plants required
