Our Solutions Engineering team focuses on value selling: helping customers see how Atlassian products combine to solve real business challenges and deliver better outcomes. We play as a team, celebrate wins together, and share knowledge freely. You’ll work with Atlassian, not just for Atlassian.

This is a high-impact role selling products that are transforming how teams work with cloud and AI.

Responsibilities

Atlassian is looking for a Principal Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer for our Mid-Market business. This is a unique leadership role - as a senior technical leader in the territory, you’ll work across some of the largest and most complex opportunities, while also serving as a mentor, coach, and multiplier for other Solutions Engineers. You’ll help set the standard for technical excellence, customer impact, and team culture.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the senior technical leader for mid-market opportunities, helping win the most strategic and complex deals in the territory

  • Partner with account executives to drive customer outcomes and expansion opportunities

  • Engage deeply with customers to uncover needs, shape solutions, and demonstrate the business impact of Atlassian’s products

  • Deliver compelling, value-based demonstrations that inspire both technical and business stakeholders

  • Guide customers through technical requirements during the sales cycle, ensuring they trust Atlassian as the right solution

  • Lead by example — mentor, coach, and support other Solutions Engineers to help them grow and succeed

  • Act as a voice of the field, sharing product feedback and competitive insights to influence Atlassian’s roadmap

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the team

About you:

  • 8+ years of pre-sales or solutions engineering experience, including success in complex mid-market or enterprise deals

  • Strong leadership qualities — experience mentoring, coaching, or elevating peers in technical roles

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders

  • Strategic problem solver who can translate business needs into clear, compelling solutions

  • Comfortable taking ownership of major opportunities while also raising the capabilities of the broader team

  • Growth-minded and collaborative — you thrive in environments where teamwork and customer impact come first

  • Bonus: fluency in an additional language such as Spanish, French, Italian, or Arabic

More about our team

You’ll be part of a globally distributed SE team that partners closely with sales to drive growth. We value action, collaboration, and continuous learning. If this sounds like the environment where you’ll thrive, we’d love to meet you.
