JOB SUMMARY:
The Pharmacy Courier is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of prescription medications and pharmacy-related items to our patients. This role requires excellent customer service skills, strict adherence to confidentiality and handling procedures. Couriers serve as an extension of the pharmacy team and help ensure patients receive medications in a secure and professional manner.

DUTIES PERFORMED:
  • Pick up prescriptions from the pharmacy and verify delivery details before departure.& &
  • Deliver medications to patients’ homes or designated sites following assigned routes and timelines.
  • Confirm recipient identity and obtain required signatures for delivery confirmation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
  • Handle medications carefully, ensuring proper storage conditions during transport.
  • Report delivery issues, delays or patient concerns promptly to pharmacy staff.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation.
  • Follow all traffic laws and safe driving practices.
  • Follow NHFHS employee Personnel Policies and Procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • EDUCATION:
    • REQUIRED:
      • Minimum high school graduate or equivalent
  • EXPERIENCE:
    • PREFERRED:
      • Previous courier experience
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Have and maintain a valid South Carolina driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen as well as random, unannounced drug screens.
  • Properly and safely operate all work related equipment, including but not limited to vehicles, computers and cell phones.
  • Must comply with all pharmacy policies, delivery protocols, and safety standards
  • Professional, courteous demeanor.
  • Strong attention to detail including punctuality and reliability.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills including problem solving and sound judgement.
  • Adhere to schedules for work, lunch and breaks.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and drive for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry packages up to 10 pounds
