OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW The Vancouver Club is looking for part-time banquet servers, dedicated to exceeding expectations of both our members and guests to ensure the highest level of service is consistently provided. Teamwork is the key to success in providing a warm and personable experience, the role is to provide excellent guest service with the support of the Food and Beverage team. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn and develop within the hospitality industry. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Promote and maintain a positive working relationship at all times with all Colleagues  Consistently offer professional, friendly and warm hospitality to all Members. Take ownership and uphold the values stated in the Steps of Service provided by Management Demonstrate a complete knowledge and understanding of the sequence of service, food and beverage service standards, and all other service standards as outlined by the Banquet Captain Able to read and understand the Banquet event orders to fulfill event requirements and steps in service timeline Have full and complete knowledge of the food menu, dessert menu, coffee and tea menu as well as all other beverage menus and the wine list. To know about menu items, ingredients, preparation methods and garnishes for all dishes.  Be able to answer any guest question about food items, beverages and wines in an informative and helpful way. Be aware of all payment procedures and the handling of all payment methods as appropriate to each event Communicate all service requirements to the respective team members in an efficient and effective way Ensure that all work areas and pantries are kept clean and tidy at all times Perform all opening and closing duties including setups and resets of all rooms assigned in the Club.  As well as all daily and weekly duties to the set standards as outlined by the Banquet Captain. Attend pre-shifts and meetings to be well informed about all events, promotions and other news  Understand how to operate all the equipment used in the Club and to protect all assets Assist all members (internal and external) with any enquiries or requests in a pleasant, helpful manner Actively participate in and follow all health and safety policies and procedures  Perform all other duties as required.   ENSURING AND PROVIDING EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE  Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels. Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints, with the assistance of the Banquet Captain as required. Strives to improve personal service performance. Memorize all menus and daily features Be attentive during pre-shifts Reviews guest satisfaction results with supervisor.   QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL REQUIREMENTS Previous server experience an asset Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrate superior customer service philosophy Must have Serving it Right certification  Must have FOODSAFE Level 1 certification Will be required to maintain a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
