Job Purpose

The Herc Rentals Occupational Health Nurse strengthens our field medical support and employee health initiatives. This role will be instrumental in collaborating with our Risk Department to proactively manage claims, workers' compensation, workplace injuries, OSHA recordables, and overall employee health including mental health.

What you will do...

  • Collaborate closely with the Risk Department and Workers' Compensation Department to effectively manage and mitigate workers' compensation claims, OSHA recordables, and other workplace injuries.
  • Work alongside the Safety Department in the development and implementation of health and safety initiatives, policies, and best practices to safeguard workers, prevent injuries, and promote workplace wellbeing.
  • Establish and maintain a network of qualified physicians aligned with Herc's operational locations; manage relationships and contracts with contracted clinics and physicians providing medical care.
  • Provide intake of initial injury reports and coordinate timely and appropriate healthcare services for occupational incidents.
  • Serve as a field-based clinical resource, supporting employees and management regarding health-related incidents, claims, and injury management.
  • Assess work-related injuries and provide expert guidance to employees and managers on injury management and claims processes.
  • Evaluate and interpret employees' medical and occupational history, subjective complaints, and physical examination findings to inform care and workplace decisions.
  • Support and act as a liaison for the company's Return to Work (RTW) Program, collaborating with HR, branch managers, and other departments on RTW notes and restrictions.
  • Provide intervention, EAP coordination, and crisis support for employee health concerns, with particular attention to mental health and well-being.
  • Act as a liaison between field operations, risk management, and external medical providers to ensure seamless communication and care coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all cases, interventions, and communications.
  • Support compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements to ensure organizational adherence to legal standards.
  • Participate in training and education initiatives for field staff on health, safety, and injury prevention, fostering a culture of safety and wellness.


Requirements

  • Significant medical background (RN, or paramedic) required.
  • Experience in occupational health, workers' compensation required
  • Employee wellness programs is a plus


Skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel to field locations as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Pay Range: $110,000 - $140,000 salary
