The Opportunity:
BloombergNEF (BNEF) is seeking an experienced, highly motivated individual to join our North America commercial team as a New Business Relationship Manager. The candidate will lead BNEF’s business development efforts across the New York and broader Northeast US region. Specifically, the candidate will focus on financial institutions in the region — including asset managers, investment banks, private equity firms, insurance companies, and other capital market participants — who are looking to deepen their understanding of the energy transition, energy needs to support digital infrastructure (AI/Data Centers) and sustainable investing opportunities.
BNEF supports financial sector decision-makers with actionable insights spanning clean energy, advanced transportation, sustainable finance, carbon markets, climate risk, power & utilities, energy & digital infrastructure, and emerging climate technologies. This role will be based in New York with frequent travel across the Northeast to visit clients and attend key industry events.

The Role:

The candidate will lead BNEF new business initiatives across New York and the broader Northeast US region, working closely with the Bloomberg terminal sales team in the region. This role will be reporting to BNEF's Head of Business Development for Northeast, Midwest and Eastern Canada. The candidate will look after BNEF’s growing client base across financial institutions in the Northeast US. You will help to originate new client relationships and scale existing client accounts to meet our accelerated growth targets. This candidate will play a critical role in connecting the dots between BNEF's research and the Bloomberg terminal product. Ideally the candidate will have a working knowledge and experience in the evolving energy transition, sustainability and climate tech space. The candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, an intellectual interest in and capacity for becoming highly conversant in energy, sustainability, and decarbonization strategy related topics. The candidate will have an ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities in parallel.

We'll trust you to:

  • Originate new client relationships for BNEF’s product offering and services

  • Work on strategic development of key client relationships in conjunction with the BNEF account management team

  • Collaborate with counterparts in Bloomberg's terminal business in the territory to grow and expand existing relationships and pursue new leads

  • Travel and conduct face-to-face meetings with clients and prospects in the territory

  • Coordinate client events by inviting clients/prospects and handling logistics

  • Assist in the preparation of major sales activities, such as content presentations to senior audiences

  • Provide constructive feedback to product and analysis teams regarding client needs

  • Manage proposals and contracts

You'll need to have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree at a minimum

  • Minimum of five years of experience building energy, utility, industrial and/or tech industry relationships

  • Experience building enterprise relationships

  • A track record of exceeding sales targets year over year

  • A strong interest and experience in energy transition and sustainability

  • Desire and ability to travel to conduct face-to-face meetings with clients and prospects

  • A confirmed ability to work on parallel tasks and collaborate across teams

  • An assiduous attention to detail

We'd love to see:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Experience carrying a sales target and exceeding revenue expectations

  • Knowledge or experience with the Bloomberg terminal and/or BNEF’s web product

  • Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and related sales tools

Salary Range = 115000 - 185000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus


The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
