SUMMARY

USA for UNHCR is seeking a strategic, creative, and data-informed Manager, Digital Content to lead the development of high-impact digital messaging that drives fundraising, supporter engagement, and brand awareness across channels. This role is central to ensuring donors and supporters receive compelling, consistent, and results-driven content that clearly communicates impact and inspires action.

The Manager, Digital Content leads the creation and execution of digital content across email, SMS, web, paid media, and multimedia formats, while serving as a key partner to fundraising, marketing, and engagement teams. The role drives excellence in content strategy, editorial quality, testing and optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. This position requires strong digital storytelling and direct-response expertise, a deep understanding of audience behavior, and the ability to manage workflows, approvals, and performance in a fast-paced, campaign-driven environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadand executedigitalcontent development for theIGDigitalMarketingtomeet team and organization goals
  • Draft compelling, results-driven digital content for emails, SMS, website landing pages, ads, video scripts, and other digital copy needs, with a strong understanding of digital direct response writing principles.
  • Provide guidance for graphic development and video productionto ensure alignment with campaignobjectivesand brand standards.
  • Lead and manage the content approval process and quality assurance toensurecontent is deployed with a unified voice and message.
  • Manage theIGdigital content calendar to providean excellentdonor experience for multiple audiences.
  • Assistin the development and execution of the digital strategy and growth path for the organization in collaboration with other internal stakeholders to embody a digital-first anddata-informedmindset.
  • Participate incontent testing opportunities and analyze data to continue toinformimprove donor experience.
  • Partner with other teams tosharedigitalcontentbest practices andapplydata-driven insights to enhance overall campaign effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degreerequired.
  • At least 6-8 years of experience in digital fundraising content strategy and digital writing for nonprofits, cultural institutions, political campaigns, associations, or similar organizations
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a strong eye for detail and the ability to develop fresh, compelling digital content
  • Strong understanding of digital strategies and best practices across email, SMS, web, and paid media
  • Familiarity with digital fundraising and direct response principles and performance-driven content
  • Experience managing content calendars and workflows across multiple channels, audiences, and programs
  • Understanding of donor journeys, audience segmentation, and personalization to improve donor experience
  • Experience analyzing campaign performance, drawing insights, and making data-informed recommendations
  • Comfort working with data to inform content optimization, testing, and iteration
  • Ability to optimize content for different channels, audiences, and campaign objectives
  • Experience collaborating with designers and video producers (preferred, not required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and other relevant tools and software
  • Understanding of refugee issues, humanitarian response, and global affairs

WORK LOCATION

Hybrid + Washington, DC + May also involve travel to some locations within the company's region of operations and select donor locations.
