Responsibilities:

Job Overview:
We are seeking an entry level Line Cook to join our team at Guppy’s Restaurant & Tavern. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in accordance with our recipes and food safety standards. If you have a passion for the culinary arts and enjoy working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, we would love to hear from you.

Duties:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented in accordance with established standards
- Monitor food stock levels and notify the Kitchen Manager of any shortages or discrepancies
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations

Requirements:
- Previous experience working in the food industry or a restaurant setting is preferred but not necessary
- Knowledge of basic knife skills and food handling techniques
- Familiarity with food safety guidelines and regulations
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings & weekends.
