We are building a technology-forward customs brokerage from the ground up in Texas, and we are looking for a licensed customs broker to join as an founder with real equity in the business.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Serve as licensed broker of record for our CBP broker license
  • Review and sign off on customs entries, HTS classifications, and duty assessments
  • Participate in client audit presentations — walk CFOs through specific dollar savings we have identified in their import history
  • Provide expert input to our AI classification engine; help validate and improve its outputs
  • Advise clients on USMCA origin qualification, Section 301 exposure, and duty drawback eligibility
  • Build and manage relationships with freight forwarders and trade counsel
  • Oversee compliance program delivery for retainer clients
  • Hire and lead operations staff as the business scales

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Required:

  • Active CBP-issued individual customs broker license
  • 5+ years of experience in a licensed customs broker capacity
  • Deep working knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, and entry procedures
  • Experience with ACE/ABI filing systems
  • Comfortable presenting findings to CFOs and senior procurement teams

Strongly Preferred:

  • US-Mexico trade experience (USMCA, maquiladora, Laredo/El Paso corridors)
  • Familiarity with duty drawback filing and protest procedures
  • Experience with mid-market importers ($5M–$100M import value)
  • Section 301 tariff engineering or exclusion filing experience
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — you have thought about owning your own book

Nice to Have:

  • Spanish language proficiency
  • Existing client relationships you would consider bringing over
  • Interest in AI and technology tools applied to trade compliance

COMPENSATION

  • Base salary: $85,000–$120,000 depending on experience and book
  • Equity: Meaningful ownership stake
  • Revenue share: Available for any client relationships you bring over
  • Schedule: Flexible, results-oriented, remote-capable
