Common or Garden Pub is a vibrant, community-centered bar and restaurant known for pub fare and creative seasonal specials. We’re looking for a reliable, motivated, and Lead Line Cook to join our small team and help keep our kitchen running smoothly.

Key Responsibilites

Lead Nightly Service: Prepare and execute dinner service on the line, ensuring consistent quality and pace.

Inventory & Ordering: Receive food deliveries, organize and rotate stock, and track inventory to anticipate needs and reduce waste.

Specials Creation: Develop creative daily or weekly specials using excess inventory to minimize spoilage and optimize margins.

Staff Meal Prep: Prepare a nutritious and satisfying pre-service staff meal each evening.

Cleanliness & Compliance: Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and food safety in line with local health regulations.

General Responsibilites

  • Pre-service set up, stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food before service, if needed
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • follow instructions from the Owner
  • Comply with food safety standards
  • Maintain a professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Keep station clean during and after service

  • Ability to take instruction and accurately follow assigned recipes
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
  • Maintain cleanliness of space
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of kitchen appliances

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
