Sims Hilditch was recently named one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work, reflecting our commitment to creating a positive, supportive, and inspiring work environment.</p> <p><strong>What we’re looking for</strong></p> <p>The ideal candidate will be confident, technically proficient, and capable of working closely with the Design Leads and specialist interior architecture team to help shape the overall vision for each project. You will also be expected to manage your own clients and projects, working closely with other project team members to drive strong project performance. The role requires the production of detailed technical drawings, including floor plans and elevations, as well as bespoke joinery, custom furniture, and architectural detailing. A strong technical foundation and a thorough understanding of the build process are therefore essential.</p> <p><strong>Project deliverables:</strong></p> <ul> <li>deliver creative design projects, independently and alongside the other design team members</li> <li>translate design concepts and client briefs into detailed presentations and supporting documentation</li> <li>produce full detailed drawing packages in AutoCAD, including joinery, lighting and electrical layouts for tender and construction</li> <li>confidence in working on all project stages in line with RIBA structure</li> <li>liaise and coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, and the wider professional project teams during all stages of the project</li> <li>attend client and site meetings, presenting ideas alongside senior design team members and independently</li> <li>ability to problem solve</li> <li>support the business in its day-to-day functions, mentoring junior members of the team when needed.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key skills required:</strong></p> <ul> <li>proficiency in Auto CAD, In Design, Photoshop, Sketchup, Microsoft Office</li> <li>free hand sketching a bonus but not essential</li> <li>strong technical ability with proven experience producing detailed drawing packages</li> <li>ability to work well under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines</li> <li>comprehensive knowledge of joinery and architectural detailing</li> <li>self-motivated, pro-active with ability to take initiative</li> <li>good team player, both assisting and supporting team members</li> <li>excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills</li> <li>excellent organisational skills</li> <li>knowledgeable and passionate about design, with a strong understanding of materials and heritage buildings, and a keen eye for detail</li> <li>full, clean UK driving licence</li> </ul> <p><strong>Social and environmental responsibility:</strong></p> <ul> <li>social impact: actively contribute to initiatives promoting social equity, diversity, and inclusion at workplace and in our community.
