SALARY: Circa£30,000 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid with your time split working from home and the office in Gravesend, Kent (DA12) – candidates will need to live within a commutable distance to Gravesend

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an HR Officer to join a small, supportive team delivering efficient, compliant and people-centred HR services.

As an HR Officer, you will provide practical advice and hands-on support across employee relations, recruitment, onboarding and HR administration, ensuring processes are accurate, data-driven and aligned with employment law and best practice.

Working closely with managers and colleagues, the HR Officer will play a key role in maintaining HR systems, supporting casework and contributing to continuous improvement across colleague services.

DUTIES

Your duties as the HR Officer include:

  • Employee Relations Support: Providing first-line HR advice on employee relations matters
  • Case Management Support: Supporting disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance processes, including minute taking and accurate record keeping
  • Policy Support: Assisting with the review, development and implementation of HR policies
  • Recruitment Administration: Managing full-cycle recruitment activities, including advertising, screening and interview coordination
  • Onboarding Coordination: Facilitating onboarding processes and completing all pre-employment checks
  • Transactional HR Activities: Supporting contract changes, offers of employment and HR data updates
  • HR Systems Management: Maintaining accurate employee records and producing reports and dashboards
  • Data Protection Compliance: Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection requirements

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Previous experience in a similar HR or people services role
  • A good understanding of UK employment law, HR best practice and right to work requirements
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, organisation and relationship building skills
  • Experience of taking accurate and confidential meeting minutes
  • Experience of working with HR databases and systems
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint
  • Ability to build and maintain effective professional working relationships

DESIRABLE

  • Level 3 CIPD qualification or equivalent
