Head of Product — Lead the Future of Shopify Commerce

Join a market leader in the Shopify ecosystem and help shape the future of online retail.

As a profitable, bootstrapped startup, we focus solely on delivering value to our merchants – no vanity projects or red tape, just a laser focus on building products that drive results. At the same time, we move quickly and value high-energy, action-oriented leaders who thrive in ambiguity and love to get things done.

If you’re an experienced Head of Product with Shopify expertise, a strong technical background, and the ability to prototype AI-driven solutions, this role is for you.

Why you should join us

  • Shape the future of the Shopify ecosystem: Lead product strategy at one of the most popular apps on Shopify. Your work will directly influence the success of tens of thousands of e-commerce businesses.

  • Remote-first flexibility: Work from anywhere (EMEA time zone preferred) with 100% remote forever.

  • Bootstrapped & stable: Join a profitable startup with real customers and steady growth. No external investors means we prioritize product quality and user happiness above all else.

  • AI-driven culture: Use AI tools not just in engineering, but in product discovery, fast prototyping, and customer insights. We encourage experimentation with new AI-driven workflows to accelerate innovation.

  • Leadership impact & ownership: Small, agile team where transparency, ownership, and diversity are valued. You’ll build and scale the product organization, shaping the way millions of people experience e-commerce.

What you will be doing (Responsibilities)

  • Define and own the product vision & strategy: Partner with founders and leadership to set long-term direction for Vitals, aligning product with business goals and merchant success.

  • Own product-driven growth outcomes: Drive activation, retention, expansion, and ARPU improvements, working closely with leadership to align product strategy with measurable revenue impact.

  • Build and lead the product team: Hire, mentor, and manage Product Managers, setting performance standards, and developing future product leaders.

  • Drive cross-functional alignment: Work across engineering, design, marketing, and customer success to ensure the product roadmap delivers impact.

  • Champion customer-first discovery: Run structured discovery processes, ensuring the voice of merchants drives decision-making at scale.

  • Scale product execution: Lead product strategy across a portfolio of 40+ embedded apps and features, balancing consolidation, expansion, and simplification into a coherent platform experience.

  • Promote product excellence: Ensure solutions are not just functional but delightful, maintaining Vitals’ reputation as one of the most loved apps in the Shopify ecosystem.

  • Experiment with AI-powered solutions: Encourage the team to prototype, test, and iterate quickly using modern tools and workflows.

What we’re looking for (Requirements)

  • Multi-company product experience: Experience across multiple product-led companies (startup and/or scale-up), with exposure to different product cultures and organizational models.

  • Proven product leadership: 10-15+ years in product roles, including at least 3–5 years leading product teams in SaaS or e-commerce.

  • Shopify expertise: You understand the Shopify ecosystem deeply – either from building apps or working directly with merchants.

  • Technical fluency: You’re not necessarily coding, but you can talk to engineers, understand trade-offs, and guide technical decisions with confidence.

  • AI-first mindset: You actively integrate AI into your daily workflow (from product discovery and user research synthesis to rapid prototyping and spec generation). You’ve shipped or meaningfully improved products using AI capabilities.

  • Analytical & user-focused: Strong ability to work with data and customer insights to guide prioritization and decision-making.

  • Strategic & executional balance: You can zoom out to set vision and zoom in to solve detailed problems.

  • Excellent communicator: Able to clearly express product ideas across teams, with structured writing and storytelling.

  • Org builder: Experience establishing product processes, scaling teams, and building high-performance cultures in a startup environment.

  • Startup mindset: High energy, bias towards action, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with limited structure.

Bonus points

  • Prior experience launching or scaling Shopify apps.

  • Experience building AI-driven consumer or SaaS products.

  • Strong UI/UX sense with the ability to sketch or prototype interfaces.

  • Familiarity with Shape Up or other outcome-based product development frameworks.

What we offer

  • Competitive compensation: We reward top talent with competitive pay.

  • Remote work, always: Freedom to work from anywhere in the world. We trust you to get work done in the environment that suits you best. (Our team currently operates around EMEA time zones for collaboration.)
