We specialize in identifying and removing invasive plant species from wetlands, woodlands, meadows, river areas and rare habitats to return these settings to a more natural and balanced ecological state. As a Groundsperson, you play a vital role in the success of our company. The Groundsperson assists our Technicians in bringing our client’s vision to life. We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference, is up for the challenge of working outside in adverse conditions and appreciates the process of change. Our team are self-motivated people with a willingness to learn, who can take direction when it is given and make informed decisions when needed. Our work requires our team to adapt as the weather and the work develops or changes and make smart choices in sometimes challenging situations. We are looking for someone who can work well with others but can work on their own if need be.

The scope of the work entails cutting large invasives and applying herbicide to the stumps, prepping sites that will be treated for herbicide later in the season, and assisting forestry mowing projects. The Groundsperson will have an opportunity to become a licensed CDL driver if they are not one already.

This position will be available in March 2026 until May where the work will evolve into assisting with herbicide applications throughout the summer and fall. Groundsperson related work resumes in late fall.

As a Groundsperson, your responsibilities include

-Following daily work orders

-Having the necessary equipment, PPE, and materials for each job site

-Accurately identifying invasive species

-Using a handheld sprayer to apply wetland approved herbicides

-Operation and maintenance of equipment such as ATVs, trailers, brush cutters, and chain saws

-Clearly communicate what was accomplished each day

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

-Experience using equipment such as brush cutters, chain saws, loading and towing trailers, ATVS, and skid steers

- Experience applying herbicides / pesticides or an ability to obtain Pesticide Applicator license

- Experience as a CDL driver or ability to obtain a license

- Ability and comfort-ability hiking in adverse conditions

-Heavy lifting

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
