This is a remote position. OpenLoop is seeking Genetic Counselors to offer their specialized counseling services to assess and manage an individual’s personalized health and wellness plan. About the Position This is an incredible work opportunity in a fast-paced, innovative company that puts the patient first. We hire clinical care professionals who deliver medical care using telemedicine modalities including video, phone, connected devices, and asynchronous messages (chat/email). As a Genetic Counselor, you will be helping our patients determine how their genes operate, what areas need improvement, and provide a roadmap on how to optimize them. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including nurse practitioners, physicians, and dietitians to provide guidance and support through the processes of nutrition analysis, weight analysis, and developing precision nutrition plans. Responsibilities Review, analyze, and interpret genetic test results and communicate findings with patients. Recommend lifestyle changes, supplements, and dietary changes in relation to personalized test results. Analyze patient genes to provide insights into how their body processes food and absorbs nutrients. Offer recommendations for supplements and exercises in relation to weight and nutrition analysis. Document in patient charts and develop follow-up recommendations for patients; documents cases and maintains appropriate records, ensuring confidentiality. Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to determine appropriate course of action for treatment Provide outstanding service and care to patients who are seeking treatment for genetic therapy Requirements Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling or Human Genetics from an accredited program Board certification through the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) Must possess active, non-restrictive genetic counselor licenses in a MINIMUM of 5 states REQUIRED Minimum two years experience as a practicing genetic counselor required Strong knowledge of genetics and hereditary conditions, particularly related to cancer preferred Knowledge of genetic counseling protocols preferred Competent in providing patient education at every visit Strong verbal and written communication skills Above-average comfort with technology and assisting patients with troubleshooting technical difficulties that may occur in the home environment Timely and professional Telemedicine or virtual care experience a plus Benefits $40 per 60 minute consult; $20 per 30 minute consult This is a 1099 position for 10+ hrs per week Hours of operation: M-F 7a-7p CST Apply tot his job
