Job Title: Gardener/ Laborer/ Farm hand
Location: Various Customer Addresses
Job Type: Part-time/Seasonal
Pay: $18-$25 based on experience

Job Summary:

Happy Yards is looking for reliable and hardworking Gardeners/ Laborers/ Farm hands to join our Gardening and landscaping team. The ideal candidate will have some experience in weeding, edging, mulching, using a wheelbarrow & other gardening tools, planting, pruning and general landscape maintenance. If you enjoy working outdoors and have a passion for plants and landscaping, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Plant, water, weed, and maintain flowers, trees, and shrubs (standing and kneeling).
  • Edge and add mulch or soil to garden beds using wheelbarrows and hand tools.
  • Prune plants, shrubs and small trees, hedges, and bushes to maintain shape and health.
  • Identify and remove invasive plant species and pests.
  • Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment, returning tools at end of day.
  • Assist in landscape design projects, including measuring, creating and planting new gardens.
  • Clean up debris and maintain a neat and orderly work environment.
  • Follow safety procedures and company guidelines.
  • Assist on local non-certified organic vegetable farm for similar tasks listed above (if interested).

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture not required.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, wheelbarrows, edger, small gardening tools such as weeding tools and pruners.
  • Knowledge of plant care, soil health not required but beneficial.
  • Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions and in multiple positions such as standing, bending and kneeling for extended times.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license (preferred but not required if you can get to site or pickup spot).
