Front End Cashier

ALDI is hiring Cashiers and Stockers to work together towards a better customer shopping experience. As part of a collaborative team, you'll use registers and equipment, keep shelves stocked, ensure cleanliness, and provide outstanding customer service.

Position Type: Part-Time

Typically Less Than 30 Hours per Week is the Expected Duration

Commencing workers are given an hourly compensation of $18.50

Duties and Responsibilities:

The candidate must have the ability to perform tasks with or without reasonable assistance.

  • Communicates well with colleagues and regularly updates their direct manager
  • Protects the privacy and security of documents and data within their area of responsibility
  • Assigned work outside of regular job duties

Cashier Responsibilities:

  • Manages end-to-end customer transactions, tidies up the store premises, restocks merchandise on shelves, and presents a well-maintained image of the merchandise
  • Providing exceptional customer service is the top priority for ensuring customers have an enjoyable shopping experience
  • Communicates effectively with management regarding any and all matters related to products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and other points of concern
  • Cooperates in taking store inventory counts according to the guidelines and ascertaining inventory accuracy
  • Careful attention to cash policies and procedures is instrumental in avoiding unnecessary financial losses

Stocker Responsibilities:

  • Guaranteeing excellent customer satisfaction by consistently stocking shelves and rotating products so that they remain fresh at all times
  • Utilizing a pre-designed planogram for merchandise displays is a reliable method for generating high-quality and aesthetically-pleasing product exhibits
  • Systematically categorizing fresh supplies and removing empty boxes by breaking them down is a significant task
  • The successful candidate will be capable of operating machinery safely and implementing standard safety guidelines

Physical Demands:

  • In order to fulfill the responsibilities assigned to them, individuals working at the store are expected to engage in various physical tasks, including sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking
  • Stock Clerk: Aptitude to move merchandise from the store's receiving area to the shelves; proficiency in organizing products, weighing as much as 45 pounds, on shelves at different altitudes

  • The criterion for participation includes being of legal age i.e. 18 years or older

  • Capacity to conduct general cleaning duties in accordance with the policies of the organization

Education and Experience:

  • A secondary education certification or its equivalent is the desired qualification
  • Candidates with prior experience in the retail industry are preferred
  • A blend of classroom education and real-world practice resulting in synonymous knowledge
