Job Story
Student Engagement and Belonging is seeking dependable, friendly, and motivated students to join our front desk team. Student Assistants serve as the first point of contact for our office and play an essential role in creating a welcoming, organized, and professional environment for students, staff, and campus partners. In this role, you will greet visitors, answer phones, assist with equipment check outs and returns, complete daily operational tasks, and support general office and event operations across both locations.

This position offers valuable experience in professional communication, office operations, and leadership development. We are looking for students who take initiative, pay attention to detail, communicate clearly, and show up consistently. Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
-Greet and assist visitors in person and by phone
-Provide accurate information and direct inquiries appropriately
-Manage equipment check outs and returns following office procedures
-Complete daily operational tasks to support front desk workflow
-Assist with office organization, inventory, and event preparation
-Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming front office space

Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.

Additional Requirements
Must maintain good academic standing and Work Study eligibility

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
