Floating Cook - Corporate Dining

Location: East Taunton, MA

Pay Range: $20-25/hour

Schedule: M-F Daytime Hours - No Nights, No Weekends


About the Role

Cafe Services is looking for a reliable, skilled, and service-driven Floating Cook to support our corporate dining cafés across multiple locations. In this role, you’ll prepare and cook fresh, high-quality meals while stepping in to provide coverage wherever needed.

This is a great opportunity for a cook who enjoys variety in their workday, thrives in a team-focused environment, and appreciates a consistent Monday–Friday schedule without late nights or weekend restaurant hours.

What You’ll Do

Food Preparation & Service

  • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items (meats, vegetables, salads, hot entrées) according to recipes and supervisor direction

  • Maintain quality, presentation, and timeliness of food production

  • Operate kitchen equipment safely (slicers, mixers, fryers, choppers, etc.)

  • Provide friendly, efficient customer service during peak service times

  • Assist with catering and special event preparation as needed

  • Support a positive, collaborative team environment

Compliance & Operations

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe, HACCP)

  • Ensure proper food storage, rotation (FIFO), labeling, and temperature control

  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and fully stocked

  • Report equipment concerns and support safe kitchen operations

  • Assist with documentation and food safety compliance requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Prior food preparation or kitchen experience required

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Basic reading and math skills

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe/HACCP) or willingness to learn

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Comfortable safely operating kitchen equipment

  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record (required for travel between locations)

Physical Requirements

  • Lift, carry, or push up to 15 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally

  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and handling equipment

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cold, and noise

Schedule & Compensation

  • Monday–Friday schedule

  • Occasional early mornings or event support as needed

  • Full-time and part-time opportunities available

  • Hourly, non-exempt position (eligible for overtime)

  • Benefits available in accordance with company policy

  • Travel required between assigned accounts
