Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional in-flight customer service to passengers, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the journey.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in safety procedures, including emergency evacuations, first aid, and the use of onboard safety equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with passengers and crew, addressing concerns and providing accurate information about flight services and schedules.
  • Prepare and serve meals, beverages, and onboard retail items, maintaining high standards of presentation and hygiene.
  • Assist passengers with special needs, including children, elderly passengers, and individuals requiring mobility assistance.
  • Collaborate with the flight crew to ensure smooth operations, including compliance with FAA regulations and company policies.
  • Manage passenger boarding and deplaning processes efficiently, ensuring timely departures and arrivals.
  • Handle challenging situations, such as weather delays or passenger disputes, with professionalism and diplomacy.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Must meet physical requirements, including the ability to lift 50 lbs., reach overhead, and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid passport and authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must meet appearance standards and adhere to uniform guidelines set by American Airlines.

Experience

  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in aviation or transportation industries is a strong asset.

Working Hours

  • Full-time, with variable schedules that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to travel extensively, including overnight stays.
