Expert Regulatory Analyst - Home Office

Step into a vital role as an Expert with the Compliance Strategic Initiatives group in the Electric Risk and Compliance division. In this position, you’ll offer specialized insight to drive innovation, oversight, improvement, and advancement of essential compliance program elements.

Your strong background in compliance, risk management, and quality assurance will help ensure all Compliance teams and partner departments consistently meet program maturity standards.

As part of this team, you’ll collaborate closely with the Manager of Compliance Strategy and work with various leaders to evaluate the success of compliance initiatives, perform gap analyses, propose risk mitigation actions, and support use of risk management frameworks and tools. Candidates must live within the designated service region.

Key Responsibilities

- Guide Electric Compliance sub-functions to strengthen program effectiveness
- Design and improve resources that elevate compliance program maturity
- Evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of compliance procedures
- Validate controls and review ongoing operations for compliance measures
- Provide support for implementing the Compliance Controls Program, including developing controls, verifying evidence submission, ensuring standard operating processes, and defining metrics
- Oversee and update catalog of regulatory mandates, linking requirements to proper controls, training, and policy documents
- Review compliance metrics and documentation to pinpoint improvement opportunities
- Ensure guidelines, protocols, manuals, and job aids are updated and maintained for best compliance practices
- Stay ahead of changes in regulatory demands and recommend necessary program or tool modifications
- Lead gap analysis, recommend corrective actions, and ensure all activities align with relevant regulations
- Prepare and present comprehensive compliance status and risk reports
- Act as an expert on maturity practices to encourage cross-team knowledge sharing
- Evaluate and address regulatory issues, and suggest enhancements to improve compliance approach
- Independently create presentations and manage complex assignments as required
- Work with senior leadership and other teams to advance compliance objectives and influence tactical decisions
- Develop and update training content and assist with compliance project initiatives as necessary

Required Qualifications


- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, public policy, finance, engineering, or comparable experience
- Five years of related professional background

Preferred Qualifications


- Hands-on involvement with compliance audits, validation, monitoring, or assessments
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance practices in electric utilities
- Strong skills in analysis, communication, problem-solving, and the ability to offer solid recommendations
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as business, public policy, or engineering
- Prior experience working in regulated utility or compliance environments
- Proficiency with compliance tracking and documentation platforms
- Professional certifications that enhance this role, including:
- Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)
- Leading Professional in Ethics and Compliance (LPEC)
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP)
- Flexibility and skill in adapting to shifting regulations and influencing positive change

Salary Information

Salary Range: $126,000 - $200,000
