This summary provides a listing of the knowledge, skills and abilities that are critical components of the position for Crew Scheduler.

General

This position reports to the Manager of Crew Services. This is a full-time position that will interact with the Director of Operations, Manager of System Operations Control, Director of System Operations Control, Chief Pilot, Director of Inflight, other Crew Schedulers, and is responsible for the analysis of current and future optimization of flight crew resources. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of all FAR Part 121 and FAR Part 117 crew scheduling requirements. Good communication skills are required, and the successful candidate must be able to exhibit the values and culture of the company while working with flight crews in a dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient utilization of pilots as well as day-to-day tracking of their attendance.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to all crewmembers through handling all scheduling related items including relaying correct policy, procedural, and regulatory information.
  • Notification of changes to crewmember daily/monthly schedule changes; communicate schedule changes to crewmembers in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all crewmember assignments are in accordance with FAA mandated Part 91, Part 121, Part 117 regulations and company policies.
  • Continuous monitoring and verification of the integrity of the flight schedule by ensuring all segments have been assigned to a legal crew.
  • Resolve flight crew legality problems and rest requirements based on appropriate regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain necessary communication with all crewmembers, flight control, and station personnel related to crew schedules
  • Process trip swaps, trip drops, sick calls, emergency leaves, and other daily schedule modifications.
  • Secure all necessary accommodations including but not limited to hotel and deadhead flight booking
  • Ensure Utilization of reserve crewmembers in the most efficient and expedient method necessary to ensure operational reliability
  • Ensure compliance with FARs, contract requirements, and departmental guidelines.
  • Work closely with dispatchers to resolve problems and coordinate the efficient daily operation of the airline.
  • Report on daily scheduling and department status.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated, possess positive attitude, and able to proactively identify and prevent potential operational disruptions.
  • Two years in a customer service or airline role or one year of Crew Scheduling experience preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and quickly adapt to changing environments/priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on quality, tone, detail, and accuracy.
  • PC proficient in Microsoft Office products and general internet applications.
  • Ability to work any shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to professionalism.
  • Must possess skills to successfully work under tight time constraints and in high stress situations.
  • Strong organizational skills and an aptitude to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to work independently and as an integral part of a team.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations using both decimals and hours/minutes.
  • Must be able to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be available to work all shifts designated within Crew Support including midnight shifts, weekend, and holiday schedules.
