Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic leader to head our Amazon division as either a Director or Senior Director, depending on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.
This role requires a deep understanding of Amazon’s complex ecosystem, including 1P (Vendor Central), 3P (Seller Central), Fresh, and Amazon Ads. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in advertising strategy and execution, operations management across channels, and annual vendor negotiations (AVN). They will be expected to drive client growth, unlock new opportunities, and lead Harvest Group’s Amazon division with strategic vision, operational excellence, and a client-first mindset.
For this role we prefer that candidates are based out of the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, ID, IN, KS, KY, MD, MN, MO, MS, NV, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, or WI.
Responsibilities
Director
  • Experience leading all aspects of Amazon operations for clients, including business strategy, assortment and inventory management, sales optimization, and P&L ownership.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Team Leads responsible for managing account management teams, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to maximize sales and profitability across 1P, 3P, Fresh, and Ads.
  • Experience providing strategy guidance for clients during annual vendor negotiations (AVN) to secure favorable terms and agreements.
  • Ensure the team is informed and up to date on Amazon Fresh and Ads best practices, industry trends, and platform updates.
  • Partner with other retailer teams to provide cross-channel strategic guidance to clients.
  • Expert at analyzing business performance KPIs across retail, Fresh, and advertising to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization and develop executive level stories.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of initiatives and projects.
  • Stay informed about changes to Amazon’s policies, algorithms, marketplace dynamics, and advertising platforms to proactively adapt strategies.
Senior Director (in addition to Director responsibilities)
  • Extensive experience setting long-term strategic vision for the Amazon division, aligning goals with company-wide priorities.
  • Serve as a senior advisor and thought leader, representing Harvest Group with Amazon executives and senior client stakeholders.
  • Drive organizational transformation within Amazon operations, including innovation in Fresh strategy, Ads media planning, and omnichannel integration.
  • Extensive experience shaping and influencing enterprise-level client media and commerce strategies by integrating Amazon Ads into broader retail media and connected commerce initiatives.
  • Influence company-wide decision-making through collaboration with executive leadership on strategy, growth initiatives, and culture shaping.
  • Extensive experience spearheading succession planning and talent development strategies to ensure leadership bench strength across Fresh and Ads expertise.
  • Mastery level at anticipating industry shifts — such as evolving Fresh fulfillment models or emerging Ads formats — and guide proactive adjustments to client and organizational strategies.
Requirements
Director
  • 10–12 years of experience in e-commerce operations with a strong focus on Amazon.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Amazon advertising (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, AMC) with proven results driving sales and efficiency.
  • Experience leading 1P (Vendor Central), 3P (Seller Central), and Fresh accounts.
  • Proven success developing and executing Amazon Ads campaigns in alignment with retail strategy.
  • Direct experience leading annual vendor negotiations (AVN) with Amazon.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand trends across retail, Fresh, and Ads to generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, capable of engaging clients and internal teams.
  • Experience managing and developing multi-layered account teams.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of e-commerce trends, Amazon policies, and industry best practices in both retail and advertising.
Senior Director (in addition to Director requirements)
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in e-commerce or retail, with significant expertise in Amazon CPG brand management.
  • Proven track record leading enterprise-level portfolios that span 1P, 3P, Fresh, and Ads, with full P&L ownership.
  • 10+ years of experience shaping Amazon Ads strategies at scale, including advanced media planning, budget optimization, and integration into broader retail media strategies.
  • 10+ years of expertise in guiding Fresh strategy, including fulfillment, merchandising, and operational scaling for CPG brands.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and advise C-level executives and senior stakeholders at both clients and Amazon.
  • Recognized thought leader with experience in industry forums, innovation initiatives, or driving transformational approaches to commerce.
  • Strong record of building and scaling organizations, including leadership development and succession planning across Ads and Fresh disciplines.

We carefully consider a wide-ranging list of factors to determine compensation, including but not limited to level of job-related experience, knowledge, skills, location, etc. Base pay is just one component of the total compensation and benefits package.
The national hiring starting base salary range for the Director position is $160,000 - $180,000 per year. The national hiring starting base salary range for the Senior Director position is $175,000- $195,000 per year. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in our bonus program.
