Description

The custodian will uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation of the college campus. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will play a crucial role in creating a clean and welcoming environment for our employees, students, and visitors.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout assigned buildings.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly supply closet; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
  • Performs general cleaning and sanitizing in bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, classrooms, offices, living spaces and common areas.
  • Performs restorative work to floors such as vacuuming, mopping, buffing, stripping, and waxing.
  • Pick up and empty trash containers.
  • Report any safety or maintenance deficiencies to the lead custodian or facilities manager.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Employee Designation:

This position has been designated as essential at Keuka College. This means that, in the event of significant incidents or major events, you may be required to be on-site to ensure our operations continue smoothly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Employment is contingent upon completion of a post-offer background check in compliance with applicable laws.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to operate tools or equipment used in routine cleaning.
