Join our team as we help shape the future. **Role Overview:** An Asset Owner plays an integral role in the successful design, deployment, adoption, and sustainability of analytical assets across the organization. In this role, the Consultant, Asset Owner (Senior Technical Writer) partners closely with actuarial modelers, data scientists, and data engineers within the Actuarial Strategic Modeling team to ensure high-quality, consistent, and compliant documentation across the full model lifecycle. This role supports modeling teams within the Actuarial department by translating complex analytical and engineering work into clear, well-structured documentation and executive-ready materials. Acting as a first line consultant, this individual ensures documentation aligns with internal Model Risk Management standards and accurately reflects model intent, design, and use. This role serves as a senior individual contributor and trusted documentation expert, influencing documentation quality, consistency, and best practices across the Actuarial Strategic Modeling organization. This role is responsible for authoring, reviewing, and engineering high-quality model documentation and supporting strong documentation adoption and sustainability across the department. **Responsibilities:** + Partner with actuarial, data science, and engineering teams as the primary documentation-focused Asset Owner for modeling assets across the Actuarial Strategic Modeling organization. + Author and maintain end-to-end model documentation covering the full analytical lifecycle. + Produce and manage documentation in Markdown format using modern IDEs such as VS Code. + Ensure documentation adheres to internal Model Risk Management standards and aligns broadly with industry best practices. + Review and enhance documentation produced by model developers to ensure appropriate depth, clarity, consistency, structured writing quality and technical rigor. + Participate in model peer reviews, synthesizing feedback and supporting post-review documentation updates while serving as an objective contributor. + Develop process visuals, data flow diagrams, and model design artifacts using tools such as Visio or draw.io to clearly communicate analytical workflows, controls and information architecture. + Create compelling presentations and written materials for department leadership that effectively communicate complex modeling concepts, results, and outcomes. + Support multiple concurrent initiatives across lines of business, managing competing priorities and timelines while maintaining high documentation quality. + Manage documentation lifecycle activities including versioning, archival, and accessibility across GitHub and SharePoint repositories to support record retention and audit readiness. + Contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of internal SharePoint pages and documentation resources supporting the department. + Leverage modern tooling, including familiarity with Python-based model workflows, GitHub workflows, and docs-as-code practices to support documentation efficiency and quality. + Identify opportunities to improve documentation processes, templates, standards, and adoption across the department. + Support Agile ways of working, including iterative documentation updates aligned to sprint-based delivery. **Qualifications:** **Basic Qualifications:** + Graduate degree with 2 or more years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 4 or more years of experience, in a technical, quantitative, or writing-intensive discipline. + Demonstrated experience writing or engineering technical documentation for analytical, actuarial, data science, or statistical modeling assets. + Experience documenting models across the full model lifecycle, from development through implementation and monitoring. + Strong ability to translate complex technical and analytical concepts into clear, structured, and logically organized documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences. + Proficiency with Markdown, modern development environments, and documentation workflows. + Comfort reviewing Python code and collaborating closely with data scientists and engineers. + Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and editorial quality. + Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and work effectively across cross-functional teams. + Self-starter with strong ownership, accountability, judgment, and collaboration skills. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience working within Model Risk Management frameworks or documentation standards aligned to SR 11-7, including audit‑ready documentation practices. + Insurance or financial services industry experience, particularly in pricing, underwriting, actuarial modeling, or analytics. + Familiarity with Sphinx, static site generation, or other structured authoring or technical documentation pipelines. + Experience using GitHub and GenAI-assisted development tools such as Copilot. + Agile or Product Owner experience. + Prior experience supporting peer reviews, remediation efforts, or first line documentation reviews related to risk or audit activities. **Work Arrangement:** This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work schedule.
