We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Sheffield Wednesday Community team as a Community Coach. This post is to lead on SWFCCP participation departments delivery.

The Participation Department has 3 key pillars: Primary School Delivery, Football Development & SEND delivering over 350 hrs of delivery on a normal week.

This exciting opportunity will require successful applicants to deliver creative and engaging sessions in accordance with the participation manager`s expectations and Quality Assurance Framework. The role requires an extremely organised, proactive individual who plans ahead and is motivated through positive impact on participants.

You should be passionate about the development of young peoples skills and aspirations through education and football, enjoy teaching and delivering innovative schemes of work to full class groups &/ smaller cohorts as well as leading on large education and football events.

The Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme branding has a significant reach & the aim of the role is to ensure high quality delivery at all time within the community.

What will you be doing?

- Delivery of high quality PE lessons, extra curricular, football coaching & PLPS sessions.

- Collaborate with SWFC CP internal departments to implement high quality PE.

- Increasing participation opportunities in football to increase physical activity levels

- Create positive news stories & case studies from your delivery.

- Implementing innovative intervention & high impact schemes of work.

- Delivery on football holiday camps.

- Ensure all activities are correctly monitored with the appropriate risk assessment and health and safety measures.

- Willingness to improve through CPD and courses.

- The wellbeing of young people is paramount at the SWFCCP, you will be expected to understand safeguarding policies and procedures.

Skills/Competencies

- Ability to organise and prioritise your own workload

- Ability to build positive collaborative working relationships with external organisations in particular schools.

- Have a positive can do attitude and adaptable approach to workload.

- Excellent communication skills.

- Passionate to have a positive impact on young people & the community.

- Excellent IT skills in outlook & Microsoft Teams & 365.

- Passionate to provide high quality coaching pathways to develop young aspiring gifted and talented participants.

- Full driving license and access your own vehicle with business insurance.

- Knowledge of the PE national curriculum across KS1 & KS2

- It is important you have a sound understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion and its application in the role of a coach.

- A clear awareness and understanding of the importance of safeguarding issues when working with children and young / vulnerable people.

- Confident to coach across all of the community projects programmes to support or provide cover where needed.

Experience

- Working within education to deliver schemes of work & the PE curriculum.

- Delivering coaching &/ teaching in a primary school setting.

- Delivery of Premier League Primary Stars in primary education.

- Delivery on events & tournaments.

Desirable Qualifications

- Teaching qualification PGCE/HLTA L4 (desirable)

Essential qualifications:

- FA Level 2/UEFA C/multi sports level 2 coaching qualification/Level 2 coaching qualification in a sport

- level 1 (or higher) qualification in safeguarding young people

- Level 1 first aid
