Job Summary About Maple Grove, MN Maple Grove is a forward-thinking, thriving community in the northwest suburbs of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. We provide public safety, public works, community and economic development, parks & recreation, and many other important public services to a growing community. The Position The Maple Grove Community Center is seeking Building Maintenance personnel. In this position you will be responsible for ensuring that our patrons have a enjoyable experience while visiting the Community Center, and will perform general janitorial and maintenance duties, as well as assisting with admissions and arena desk operations.

Responsibilities Perform routine janitorial duties. Takes admissions and assist customers at arena desk. Performs minor repairs and building maintenance upon the direction from supervisors.

Attends training, staff meetings and other necessary meetings. Enforces safety rules and regulations and ensures the facility operates in a safe manner. Responsible for security and emergency procedures including closing/opening the facility.

Performs other duties as assigned. Coordinates efforts to ensure the City of Maple Grove is an equitable, inclusive, and respectful organization and supports the City's mission, vision, and core values. Demonstrates ability to understand and respect the diversity of customers and co-workers, effectively communicating with individuals whose first language may be one other than English.

Knowledge of: Skill in the use and care of hand and power tools, and cleaning equipment. Knowledge of applicable work hazards and safety precautions. mechanical aptitude, ability to perform minor operating adjustments and to recognize operating deficiencies in assigned equipment.

Ability to: Ability to perform routine cleaning and housekeeping duties. Physical strength and ability to perform labor for extended periods. Ability to issue repair requests for equipment in need of repairs.

Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate with the public with tact and handle diverse clientele in accordance with the department's service policy. Ability to complete necessary documentation required in the job (i.e

checklists, daily log sheets/reports, inventory, work orders and so forth). Adheres to dress code. Qualifications An equivalent combination of education and experience closely related to the duties of the position MAY be considered.

Need to have: Must be 15 years of age or older Ability to lift up to 50 pounds individually and move tables with assistance up to 175 pounds. Nice to have: Experience in performing custodial/cleaning and maintenance duties. Certified CPR/basic First Aid.
